The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is a globally recognized alliance that promotes sustainable forest management. As the world's largest forest certification system, PEFC brings together numerous independent national certification programs.
PEFC's mission is to endorse and provide mutual recognition of well-managed forest certification schemes. These schemes certify that timber and forest products are sourced from sustainably managed forests. By endorsing strong national standards that are locally adapted, PEFC allows for forest alliances to develop programs tailored to their unique social, ecological and economic conditions.
As a nonprofit organization, PEFC works internationally to further the practice of third-party certification. This helps ensure forest resources are utilized responsibly while providing environmental services and social benefits. The Fees depend on company size, number of locations, business nature and operation complexity.
For Company (Staff < 20), it take 2 months on average.
For Company (Staff ~50), it take 3 months on average.
For Company (Staff ~100), it take 5 months on average.

1) Gap Analysis.
2) Establishment of PEFC Documentation.
3) Attend PEFC Training.
4) Implementation of PEFC System.
5) External PEFC Audit by Certification Body.
There are two major Fees.
1) PEFC Certification Fee charged by Accredited Certification Body such as SGS and BV

Yes. You can take a series of training courses, draft the documentation…. liaise with Certification Body if you have sufficient time, resource and master the PEFC requirements.
No. Because of conflict of interest. Certification Body can provide PEFC generic training only but cannot tell you how to implement PEFC System in your company.
Absolutely Yes. In general, ISO Consultant will draft documentation, guide your company to implement PEFC system until passing in PEFC Certification Audit.
